A new day dawning...
Plot Number 1 seems a fitting numerical description for Dad's land, as he turns the page, beginning a new chapter of his life. He has asked, numerous times, if it is "crazy" for an 84 -year old man to be building a brand new home. While I have done my best to reassure him, I also feel reassured myself, this out-of-the box thinking of Dad's, his "craziness", is the first time I have actually felt I resemble him!
We think the foundations will be dug this Wednesday, September 28th. His home, which is modular, is already being built in Pennsylvania (which made him very happy)!
This is the view, taken in the early morning, from the front of his property yesterday. It will be the view from his living room and his office/library windows. We are excited that he loves the Southern Tier of New York and will have this glorious landscape to greet him each and every day. You can see the mist has not quite cleared, which is an apt metaphor for Daddy in these post-move, the dust hasn't quite settled, days.
But, we are confident, as is he, that before too long (early December, we think), there will be clarity and peacefulness in his heart, his mind and his spirit as he settles into Maple Ridge and the horizons of his life come into focus.
